Give a Heart Raffle/Luncheon Fundraiser
The Newcomers Club of Amelia Island Community Service Committee will again present their annual Give a Heart Raffle/Luncheon Fundraiser on February 22, 2024.
We have a membership of approximately 850 women who live in Nassau County. The Club provides an atmosphere for developing new friendships and offers social and service opportunities to members. We are a 501 (c) (7) organization which means that donations are a business expense. Last year, we raised $14,520.00 for Habitat for Humanity and hope to exceed that total this year.
This year’s recipient will be Micah’s Place, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization that provides no-cost shelter and supportive services for victims of domestic abuse. Services include prevention and intervention; education and training; counseling; legal advocacy, and support groups. Micah’s Place is the only certified domestic violence center in Nassau County.
The first Give a Heart Raffle was held in 2007. The original concept was to allow Newcomers the opportunity to give of themselves to one another and to the community by raising money for a local charity. Every dollar raised goes to the designated charity.
More than ever, we need your support to help those in need. With your generous contribution, we will have a great success. We will need your donation no later than February 16, 2024 so that we may record and publicize your gift to our membership during the months of January and February leading up to the luncheon on February 22, 2024.
Thank you. Michele Farr and Sandra Navarroli
